Donations

Donations to our general collection and Hope Fund are always welcome.  We encourage you to use the donation envelopes provided so that tax receipts can be issued to you at the end of the year.  If you do not have a box of envelopes or are new to the Parish, please check with the office and you will be given a box of envelopes.  Please ensure that you fill out the first few envelopes.

We also encourage to use the pre-authorized giving method for your convenience.  The form for direct deposit can be downloaded here, printed and returned to our Parish office: Pre-Authorized Giving Form

                                             Information on Pre-Authorized Giving

What is the Pre-Authorized Giving Plan?

St. Justin, Martyr has established a Pre-Authorized Giving Plan to assist you in your support of the work of our parish church through your regular parish offerings.  This includes either your regular Sunday offering and/or your extra contributions given for special church renovation projects. In response to changing lifestyles and demands on time and energy, St. Justin, Martyr seeks, through Pre-Authorized Giving, to assist you in the support of your parish. Pre-Authorized Giving allows us to do better planning and budgeting. It ensures that our parish has the funds it needs to continue its social outreach and meet its expenses, especially during the summer months when many of our parishioners are away.

Why Should I Participate?

Advantages for the donor:

  • Convenience. Your offering is received automatically every month.
  • Continual support of your home church when you are away.
  • Continual support of ministries, charities and programs funded through parish donations.

Advantages for the Parish:

  • Regular, dependable flow of contributions to the parish and its many social programs.
  • Reduction of costs and time in paperwork and bookkeeping.
  • Reduction in bank overdrafts.

Who looks after the plan?

St. Justin, Martyr Parish administers and supervises the plan. All records are kept confidential and remain on file at the parish office.
When you participate in Pre-Authorized Giving, your offering will be withdrawn on the 1st of each month. This amount will then be deposited into the church’s account.

How Do I Enroll?

  • Decide the amount of your weekly gift to the parish and multiply it by 52.  Then divide this number by 12 and this will be the amount that will be withdrawn from your account each month.
  • Fill out the form in this brochure and attach a blank cheque from your account marked “void”.
  • Put the form and voided cheque in an envelope and place them in the collection basket or mail them to the parish office.
  • We ask that you still take a box of donation envelops and drop one in the regular collection each week. On the front of the donation envelope, tick the box marked AW, (automatic withdrawal). This tells us that you are using Pre-Authorized giving and will help us to verify your parish donation receipt for income tax purposes

We encourage you to pick up a box of envelopes even if you are enrolled in the automatic withdrawal program. You will still use a box of envelopes for other diocesan collections such as ShareLife, Shepherd’s Trust, etc. which are not withdrawn automatically from your account.
